NECAB (NSS College of Engg. Alumni Association of Bangalore)  - The need for a vibrant alumni association to keep connected with all the members and to think of the noble cause of giving back to the alma mater cannot be over emphasized. All the Engineers from Kerala have a group in Bangalore, by the name KEA or Kerala Engineers Association, which is a conglomeration of all the alumni associations form different engineering colleges of Kerala. In spite of having good number of former students in Bangalore, our college did not have a local alumni forum. During one of the meetings of KEA in Nov 2003, few former students of our college decided to start our own alumni association. Some of the members like Mr.Rajeev Nair, Mr.PK Shivaram, Mr. K. Sahasranam & Mrs. Sneha Prabha, who were present on that occasion, took the initiative to form an alumni association for the former students of our college. They decided to contact other former students of the college and convene a meeting somewhere. Meanwhile, somewhere else, some others like Mr. Sudeesh Yezhuvath, Mr. Sreevasan PS, Mr. Sudheesh PV & Mr. Austin Scaria were also toying with a similar idea. When these two teams joined together, the numbers started jumping. The planned meeting took place during Feb 2004 at Eden Park, Bangalore. Nearly 50 members participated in the meeting, giving a big boost to the formation of alumni association. During this meeting, one steering committee, under the presidentship of Col Unni (1966 batch) was formed to coordinate group activities. The other founder members of the committee were Mr. PK Shivaram, Mrs. Snehaprabha, Mr. Rajeev Nair, Mr. Sudeesh, Mr. Sahasranam and Mr. Unni. The name NECAB was coined by Mr. PK Shivaram, which was accepted.

The objective of the group is to:
• Establish a strong identity in Bangalore by networking with all former students of NSS college of Engineering.
• Nourish contact with the alma mater and plan constructive activities for the noble cause of giving back.
• Integrate with KEA as a vibrant group.
As planned during the first meet, the next meeting of the association was at Central Park, Manipal centre on 20th March, 2005. Nearly 75 members participated in this event, where Prof. Rajan Babu from our college participated. During this meeting it was decided to have one family get together at some resorts in order to keep the group spirit high. Thus the first family met of the alumni association was planned at the holiday village resort in Kanakpura Road during early 2006.

The next event of the group was a mega meeting at ECA on 3rd December, 2006, where nearly 85 members participated. Our principal Dr Vikraman personally attended this meeting and participated in the discussions actively. This was a grand event, where the present members of the executive committee were selected long with the following office bearers.

In that meeting, it was decided to conduct some training courses in the college and further strengthen the Alumni activities. As a result, a Soft Skill Training workshop was organized for the Final/Pre-final year students of our college on 27 and 28th October 2007. Around 100 students participated in this. This was aimed to equip them for the upcoming Campus selection process. The workshop was also aimed at improving their overall personality and individual confidence. The programme was conducted by a well know professional trainer - Mr. Kadri of Legends of Transformation.
